The Purist leather notebook sleeve pattern is a pdf downloadable leather crafting template to create a minimalist leather cover for a Field Notes notebook and a writing device such as pen or pencil. The journal sleeve template is an advanced skill crafting pattern and comes with detailed assembly instructions including in-progress pictures to help you with the build. The notebook sleeve leather pattern pdf uses a single panel of leather and three stitch lines to create this light-weight every day carry for your Field Notes.

THE PURIST

Dimensions: 15.1/9.5cm (~5.9/3.75 inches)
Capacity: 1 Field Notes 5.5 by 3.5 inches notebook + a writing device such as pen or pencil
Skill level: Advanced
Recommended Leather: 1.5mm thickness (between 3.5-4 oz), medium temper
Pattern specific tools/materials: two of the three stitches have to be sewn from the hand (stitching pony cannot be used). Stitching with shorter needles (~5cm/2in) and longer than usual thread will be easier. A bit of skiving is involved.
> Always print at 100% for the pattern to work correctly. Measure and cut on the outside edge of the lines.
> Note: stitching holes in the pattern are spaced at 3.85mm, however illustrative in nature. You can use other spacing based on your pricking irons or stitching chisels, or aesthetic preferences.
